Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about MarkVault Creative, our services, and what the name actually means.

“MarkVault” — is this a bank vault, secure storage, crypto, password manager, or trademark firm?

No. MarkVault Creative is a brand, content and campaign studio based at 51 Genting Lane in Singapore. The word Mark refers to a brand mark — the visual and verbal signature of a company. The word Vault refers to our archive of creative work, principles and reference systems — the drawer where we file brand guides, campaign assets and content templates. We are not a bank, financial institution, secure data storage provider, cryptocurrency exchange, password manager, physical storage facility or trademark registration service. If you arrived here looking for any of those services, we apologise for the confusion — our name reflects creative filing, not financial or security services.

What services does MarkVault Creative offer?

We offer six core services: Brand Strategy & Positioning, Identity Systems & Art Direction, Messaging/Tone of Voice & Copywriting, Editorial Content & Content Engines, Social/Community & Creator Campaigns, and Campaign Production & Marketing Website Design. Most clients engage us for one or two services initially and expand as the relationship develops. All services are delivered by the same core studio team — no handoffs to external agencies without your knowledge.

Where is the studio located?

Our studio is at 51 Genting Lane, #06-04, Singapore 349564 — in the Aljunied neighbourhood. The nearest MRT station is Aljunied (EW9), approximately a ten-minute walk. Parking is available in the building. Client meetings are by appointment during office hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00 SGT, with Saturday sessions available by prior arrangement.

How long does a typical project take?

Timelines depend on scope. A messaging or tone-of-voice project typically runs six to eight weeks. A full brand identity programme runs ten to fourteen weeks. Campaign production with a marketing website can run twelve to sixteen weeks including launch. We provide a detailed timeline in every proposal with milestone dates and review gates. Rush timelines are sometimes possible for focused deliverables but we will not compress strategy phases — bad positioning rushed is worse than good positioning delayed.

What does a brand brief conversation involve?

We start with a 30-minute discovery call — at our studio, via video, or by phone. You describe your company, the brand challenge, timeline and approximate budget. We ask questions about your audience, competitive landscape and internal team capacity. Within five business days we send a proposal with recommended scope, timeline, team and investment. There is no charge for the discovery call and no obligation to proceed. We would rather tell you honestly that we are not the right fit than take on a project we cannot do well.

Do you work with startups or only established companies?

Both. We work with early-stage companies building their first identity and with established businesses refreshing or consolidating brands after growth, merger or market expansion. The engagement structure differs — startups often need a focused identity and messaging package, while established companies typically need audit, stakeholder alignment and migration planning — but the filing principle is the same: build something durable.

Can you work with our existing agency or in-house team?

Yes. We frequently collaborate with in-house marketing teams and other agencies. Common arrangements include us handling strategy and identity while your in-house team manages ongoing content, or us producing campaign assets while your media agency handles buying. We provide brand guides and briefing templates designed for third-party use. The key requirement is that all collaborators receive the same positioning document and identity toolkit — we do not produce work in isolation from the systems it must fit into.

What are your payment terms?

Projects are invoiced in Singapore Dollars (SGD) with milestone-based payment schedules — typically 40% on engagement confirmation, 30% at mid-project review, and 30% on final delivery. Retainer clients are invoiced monthly in advance. Payment terms are fourteen days from invoice date. We accept bank transfer and PayNow. All fees are quoted exclusive of GST unless stated otherwise.

Do you offer retainer arrangements?

Yes, for ongoing content production, social campaign management and brand stewardship. Retainer engagements have a minimum three-month term with a defined monthly output (e.g., four editorial pieces, one campaign asset pack, or eight hours of brand advisory). Retainer scope is reviewed quarterly. We limit the number of retainer clients to ensure consistent quality and senior team attention.

How do you handle confidentiality?

We treat all client information as confidential. Mutual NDAs are available on request and are standard for engagements involving unreleased products, financial data or competitive strategy. We do not publish client work, names or performance metrics without written permission. Case studies shared during discovery calls are anonymised unless the client has approved public attribution.
